Helen Livingston, Bombay, India

Helen LivingstonHelen Livingston is an Indian national who has been working with World Outreach for the last 33 years. She is based in Bombay and involved with the Indian rural population which speaks the Telegu language. Helen has two sons, Anil and Prashant.

Helen and her team work within the area of Andhra Pradesh amongst people from all age groups, from babies to the elderly (one lady is 108 years old). Helen is also in charge of the Aashray Childrens' Home for girls.

She works with medical teams to improve the health care of the people. The doctor is a World Outreach employee and a medical missionary visits several of the villages. The greatest need is for specific health care programmes and the workers make these their priority. Medical campaigns are held periodically with the help of doctors; they last from three to five days and systematically cover the villages.

Helen aims to provide medicine and care entirely free of cost to the receiver, and is sustained by donor support.

Overseas volunteers are welcome to help with the educational and health programme that covers basic health care, primary health care and AIDS / disease awareness.
