John and Yolande Leroy

John and Yolande LeroyJohn and Yolande were born in France and emigrated to Australia in 1970 with three children. John was employed as a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor.

They went to the mission field in 1990 and worked with a church in Sarawak, Malaysia for over two years, concentrating on planting churches and raising leaders.

They felt a call to West Kalimantan, Indonesia, which become stronger after their first visit to Pontianak, and a year later they started to church plant amongst the Dayaks in the Sanggau area. Many churches were started and all but 8, which they continue to oversee, were handed over to local denominations.

In 1997 they started a boarding home in Sanggau to enable needy village children to attend school. They began with one building and 60 girls. And then built another building for boys. In 2002 the number of children increased to 100 boys and 100 girls. They believe that they could easily fill another building with girls.
