Graeme & Lucy Fawcett
They spent 5 years church planting in Sarawak, Malaysia, in the city of Kuching and surrounding villages, and continue to have a mentoring relationship with the Good News fellowships there which they helped to pioneer. From Sarawak they went to Osaka, Japan, where they spent 17 years establishing 'Jesus Family', a church with a vision for the nations. Out of 'Jesus Family' came an outreach to Mozambique. After 3 years of going backwards and forwards to Mozambique from Osaka 2 or 3 times a year, in 2001 they relocated to Angoche in the north of Mozambique being sent out and supported by 'Jesus Family', which is now led by a Japanese team. In Angoche, they led a multi-national team, working with the Koti, a previously unreached Muslim people group living in Angoche and on tiny islands off the coast. Their vision was to build a network of viable churches among the Koti, and to facilitate the community transformation of the island of Buzu and other Koti communities. Involved in evangelism, their primary focus was the training of Koti leaders to reach their own people. But because of the gross poverty on the islands they were also involved in several mercy ministries, particularly focussed on needy children and orphans. Graeme and Lucy have 3 children, Jeffrey, Ken and Emily. Presently based in New Zealand, they are involved in church planting initiatives in Kuching (Malaysia), Osaka (Japan), Buzu (Mozambique), Thailand and elsewhere. Articles - most recent first:
