Aashray Childrens' Home, India
The World Outreach sponsored Aashray Home for Girls in Andra Pradesh has 21 young girls presently aged from 7 to 14 years. All were born into Hindu families and, having lost one or both parents, would have become bonded house or field labourers if they had not been rescued.
Today they are all full-on Christians and a real delight to be with. Our plans (at April, 2007) are to add another floor to the existing premises that will allow another 20-plus girls to be rescued.
All the girls attend the local government school and also receive extra training at Aashray in practical skills such as sewing, clothing design and cloth cutting, flower decoration, etc. These are all skills that will open doors of employment for them later.
