Indonesia Earthquake Relief
Funds Urgently Needed!

World Outreach has two ministry bases in Central Java, both very near Yogyakarta, where a powerful earthquake struck early Saturday morning, May 27. We are grateful that none of our people, or their properties, have been adversely affected, but all our people felt and experienced the horrific early morning tremors of this 6.2 Richter scale earthquake.
As I write this request for urgent help, the death toll is fast nearing 6,000, and expected to rise much higher, with many more thousands injured and tens of thousands homeless, i.e. without shelter, food and water.
Sam & Carol Soukotta, directors of the World Outreach sponsored Tawangmangu Bible School have contacted the World Outreach HQ office in S’pore saying that graduates from their Bible School are serving in Yogyakarta. Along with members of the New Generation Church there, they have set up a post to distribute food and water – two of the biggest and most urgent needs right now.
Other immediate needs for families include bedding, cooking burners and utensils, as well as tents to provide temporary shelter.
Carol Soukotta writes: “The New Generation Church members are right there on the spot - helping. There are tragic needs all about them. Cash is urgently needed to help the earthquake victims buy the essential household items so as to care for their families. Please, can you ask people to help?”
World Outreach has since remitted £2,800 from our Emergency Relief Fund. However much, much more is urgently needed! Will you help?
